Rossmann is expanding its distribution center in Pyskowice. The investment worth PLN 500 mln will increase the facility's area from 43 to 66 thousand sqm and will be the company's largest investment project in its 33-year history of operations in Poland.

The warehouse will grow by 23 thousand sqm

The Rossmann distribution center in Pyskowice has been operating since 2014 and primarily serves drugstores in southern Poland. In 2023, the facility was expanded to 43 thousand sqm, and currently, the third and largest stage of its expansion is underway.

Another 23 thousand sqm of space will be built. After the completion of the investment, the warehouse will reach 66 thousand sqm, which is the same as the main Rossmann distribution center in Łódź. Thus, Pyskowice will become the second most important logistics point of the chain in Poland.

Automated warehouse for 27 thousand pallets

The new halls will be largely automated. One of the most important elements of the investment will be a high-bay warehouse offering 27 thousand pallet places.

The complex will also include a repacking facility and a miniload system designed for picking orders for individual drugstores. The existing part of the warehouse will be equipped with a sequencer responsible for preparing shipping units in the correct order.

The new solutions are expected to increase the efficiency of Rossmann's logistics processes across Poland by nearly 30 percent.

Commercecon is carrying out the expansion

The general contractor for the investment is Commercecon. The scope of work includes the construction of new halls, road infrastructure, expansion of technical installations, and the office and social part.

The new facilities will be connected to the existing warehouse by two galleries running over the road. One will be intended for employees, the other will be used to transport pallets and containers with products.

The completion of the investment is scheduled for the second half of 2027.

300 new jobs in Pyskowice

Along with the expansion of the center, Rossmann plans to hire about 300 new employees. The company is looking for, among others, IT specialists, maintenance technicians, shift managers, foremen, and warehouse workers.

Rossmann currently has four warehouses in Poland: the central one in Łódź and regional ones in Pyskowice, Grudziądz, and Dąbrówka near Zgierz. The logistics facilities serve 2135 of the chain's drugstores across the country.
