The first Polish data center campus of the Data4 Group is located in Jawczyce near Warsaw, on a 4-hectare plot. The total available area of the facility will be 50,000 sqm gross, within which 15,000 sqm net of IT space will be available to customers. The first data center with a capacity of 8 MW is already in the commissioning phase and occupies over 2,200 sqm of net area – that is, usable space with dedicated colocation zones for customers. The total cost of the investment in Poland is over 1 billion PLN.
The investment near Warsaw will include 4 facilities with a total power allocation of 60 MW. The total available area of the facility will be 50,000 sqm gross, within which 15,000 sqm net of IT space will be available to customers. The first data center with a capacity of 8 MW is already in the commissioning phase and occupies over 2,200 sqm of net area – that is, "clean" usable space with dedicated colocation zones for customers. The campus will be connected via fiber-optic telecommunications links to networks available in Warsaw to ensure access to a large number of telecommunications operators and full repeatability of processes and solutions implemented in other Data4 campuses across Europe. The total cost of the investment in Poland is over 1 billion PLN.
Data4 designs, builds, and operates data centers that support the development of customers in various parts of Europe. The Group, present outside Poland also in France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, and soon also in Germany, still possesses significant land and power reserves. These capabilities will be expanded with further data centers near Warsaw. Preparations for the construction of the next stage of the campus in Jawczyce have already begun.
The opening of the first data center is also an opportunity to announce the start of the next stage of the Data4 Group's development in Poland. We are preparing for the construction of the second center, which will strengthen our Polish campus. We hope that the further implementation of the investment, the total value of which exceeds 1 billion PLN, will allow for better fulfillment of the needs of the Polish market, and we will be able to continue supporting our customers in the digital revolution — explains
Adam Ponichtera, Director of the Polish branch of Data4.Data4 has applied a number of technologies in the campus near Warsaw aimed at reducing the data center's carbon footprint. At every stage of the investment, concrete mixes optimized for lower CO2 emissions were used, and in order to minimize the carbon footprint resulting from transport, raw materials were sourced from the closest possible locations or transported by rail. In addition to taking actions aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions and optimizing energy efficiency, Data4 strives to implement a comprehensive water management plan. The water usage effectiveness index at the facility in Jawczyce is equal to zero due to the use of water circulating in a closed loop for cooling.
Key partners involved in the investment process were BCA Engineering Group, the company responsible for commissioning, and AoDC (Art of Data Center), the enterprise responsible for the design and execution of electrical installations.
