The first Polish data center campus of the Data4 Group is located in Jawczyce near Warsaw, on a plot of 4 hectares. The total available area of the center will be 50,000 sqm gross, within which customers will have an IT area of 15,000 sqm net. The first data center with a capacity of 8 MW is already in the startup phase and occupies over 2,200 sqm of net area - that is, usable area with designated collocation zones for customers. The total cost of the investment in Poland is over 1 billion PLN.
The investment near Warsaw will consist of 4 facilities, the total power allocation of which will be 60 MW. The total available area of the center will be 50,000 sqm gross, within which customers will have an IT area of 15,000 sqm net. The first data center with a capacity of 8 MW is already in the startup phase and occupies over 2,200 sqm of net area - the so-called "clean" usable area with designated collocation zones for customers. The campus will be connected by fiber optic telecommunication links to the networks available in Warsaw to ensure access to a large number of telecommunications operators and full repeatability of processes and solutions implemented at other Data4 campuses in Europe. The total cost of the investment in Poland is over 1 billion PLN.
Data4 designs, builds, and operates data centers that support the development of customers in different parts of Europe. The Group, present not only in Poland but also in France, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, and soon in Germany, still has significant reserves of land and power. These capabilities will be expanded to include more data centers near Warsaw. Preparations for the construction of the next stage of the Jawczyce campus have already begun.
The opening of the first data center is also an opportunity to announce the start of the next stage of the Data4 Group's development in Poland. We are preparing to build a second center that will strengthen our Polish campus. We hope that the further implementation of the investment, whose total value exceeds 1 billion PLN, will better meet the needs of the Polish market, and we will be able to further support our customers in the digital revolution - explains
Adam Ponichtera, director of the Polish branch of Data4.Data4 has applied a range of technologies at the campus near Warsaw aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the data center. At every stage of the investment, concrete mixes optimized to reduce CO2 emissions were used, and to minimize the carbon footprint resulting from transport, raw materials came from the closest possible locations or were transported by rail. In addition to actions aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions and optimizing energy efficiency, Data4 is pursuing a comprehensive water management plan. The water use efficiency indicator in the facility in Jawczyce equals zero due to the use of circulating water in a closed circuit for cooling.
The key partners involved in the investment process were the BCA Engineering Group, the company responsible for commissioning, and AoDC (Art of Data Center), a company implementing the design and execution of electrical installations.
