Wirthwein takes more in Łódź

The leader in plastic component production will use approximately 11,200 sqm of modern warehouse and production space at the MLP Łódź logistics center. The finished facility will be handed over to the tenant this July.

Wirthwein Polska contracted over 5,600 sqm at the MLP Łódź logistics center last year. Recently, however, it decided to increase the leased space by another 5,600 sqm. This was possible because the investment is being built partly on a speculative basis and still offered vacant space. As a result, the plastic component manufacturer will use a total of approximately 11,200 sqm of modern space. Of this, approx. 10,700 sqm will be allocated for production and warehouse purposes, and the rest will consist of office and social space. Construction of the new hall is practically finished, and the handover of the dedicated facility to the tenant is planned for this July.

Wirthwein Polska is engaged in plastic processing using the injection molding method. Utilizing the latest technologies and the know-how of highly qualified employees, it produces plastic components for the household appliance, automotive, electrical, and sanitary sectors. The Polish plant is the largest branch of the Wirthwein Group, which has a total of 23 factories in Europe, Asia, and the USA.

„The MLP Łódź logistics center is one of our newest projects. It is being built in accordance with the strategy of sustainable and energy-efficient development. This means the application of many modern solutions regarding, among other things, the use of renewable energy and the reduction of the carbon footprint. Additionally, the location practically in the very center of the country at the intersection of major transit routes means that the offered spaces enjoy very high interest. By realizing the investment partly on a speculative basis, we were able to flexibly respond to the increasing needs of our new tenant" – said Tomasz Pietrzak, Leasing Director Poland at MLP Group S.A.

„High demand for plastic parts accelerated the decision to lease additional space at the MLP Łódź Center. We are launching new projects in the household appliance and sanitary industries this year. It is no coincidence that we chose Łódź for the further development of our plant. The central location, availability of qualified staff, and proximity to our key clients are a great asset of our city. In total, Wirthwein in Poland will expand to over 22,000 sqm of production and warehouse space and will employ a total of approx. 500 employees.” Krzysztof Gorzechowski, Director Sales and Project Management Poland at Wirthwein Polska Sp. z o.o.

The MLP Łódź project is a modern logistics and distribution center located in the south-eastern part of Łódź, in the Widzew district, (in close proximity) just 4 km from the A1 motorway, connecting Łódź with the Tri-City, and approx. 20 km (10 min) from the A2 motorway (Berlin-Poznań-Warsaw). A major advantage is the proximity to public transport. It is being built on a plot of approx. 16.5 ha and will ultimately provide 83,100 sqm. The new center is being built in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, and the warehouse facilities will be subject to BREEAM certification. The MLP Łódź logistics complex is aimed primarily at tenants from the e-commerce, logistics, distribution, and light production sectors.
