Hillwood Polska begins implementation of the Industrial Park Poland project

Hillwood Polska has obtained a building permit for the first facility in the Industrial Park Poland project in the Stare Miasto municipality near Konin. This opens a new chapter in the history of economic development not only for Wielkopolska, but for the entire country.

As part of Industrial Park Poland, on 137 hectares, investor and developer Hillwood Polska plans to build over 600,000 sqm of bespoke logistics and industrial facilities up to 40 m high. Industrial Park Poland is distinguished by its excellent location in the heart of Europe, with access to modernized infrastructure ensuring transport, including intermodal connections. A railway terminal is located 10 km from the Park, and the direct proximity of the A2 motorway allows easy access to airports and the most important seaports, such as the ports in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Hamburg, and Rotterdam. An agreement recently signed by Hillwood with the Stare Miasto Municipality provides for the expansion of existing roads and the construction of additional access roads and roundabouts, along with full technical facilities.

"Hillwood Industrial Park Poland enables the construction of standard warehouse space, as well as dedicated facilities in the BTS (build-to-suit) and BTO (build-to-own) formulas. By implementing this project, we are responding to the specific needs of companies from all over the world that are looking for alternatives to their current locations and are planning to move their operations to Europe. In cooperation with the Konin City Hall and the Stare Miasto Municipality, the project was presented during industry trade fairs in Dubai and Munich, where it met with great interest from companies from many markets and sectors of the economy. The excellent investment climate, access to employees, and the offer of the Łódź Special Economic Zone provide broad support for companies and favorable tax relief" – emphasizes Hubert Michalak, CEO of Hillwood Polska.

A strategic factor in choosing the site for such a large investment is the favorable condition of the labor market, which is confirmed by two independently prepared reports from employment agencies: the Randstad company „Konin on the map of Poland. Labour market overview” and the Grupy Progress „Investment Potential of the Konin County”. In the region, access to technicians and engineers is guaranteed, as well as schools ready to train staff according to client needs. The reports show that currently, approximately 2,500 people can be hired locally. It is estimated that in connection with the region's transformation from the mining industry to green technologies, a group of approximately 4,000 people with broad competencies in industry and production will be available for companies located in the park.

"The land designated for this investment is well-located and connected, offers very great development possibilities, and even takes into account the possibility of energy production from renewable sources. We cooperate with investors and universities to ensure the training of staff with appropriate qualifications, we adapt public transport to market needs, and we take care of the quality of services provided. The Stare Miasto municipality is a place friendly to business and investors. We show our openness to entrepreneurs by supporting them on a daily basis during all stages of the investment process. Thanks to this, we have created a good climate for business, which is widely known and appreciated. Thanks to the combination of all these elements, the implementation of the Hillwood Industrial Park Poland project in this form is possible." – summarizes Dariusz Puchała, Mayor of the Stare Miasto municipality.

Industrial Park Poland is distinguished by access to utilities in quantities that meet the requirements of both logistics and manufacturing companies. Furthermore, right next to the land prepared for logistics and production development, a photovoltaic farm with a planned capacity of 180 MW will be built; its resources will be available to users of Industrial Park Poland. Atende Industries, a technology company from the Atende group, and Hillwood Polska have signed a letter of intent to work together to promote and implement modern solutions for civic energy. Energy Communities will enable the supply of energy produced largely using local renewable sources to users. Thanks to these types of activities, by 2050, investments aimed at achieving climate neutrality in accordance with the assumptions of the European Green Deal will be implemented. They will contribute to the protection of the air (and consequently the climate) and will significantly lower the electricity bills of community members. Green energy will be able to be stored and consumed locally in an optimized manner.
