Media Expert with another 80,000 sqm in Central European Logistics Hub

Panattoni is on the home stretch of completing the third building for Media Expert as part of the Central European Logistics Hub. At the end of January this year, the retail chain owner obtained early access to the 80,000 sqm facility. It has been connected to two already existing ones, creating a central Media Expert complex for domestic distribution. The three buildings occupy a total of 233,000 sqm, where several hundred people will work. In addition to the facilities in the regional capital, the chain has also leased 23,000 sqm of space within Panattoni Park Stryków III.

You can never have enough good cooperation. Panattoni, after delivering 150,000 sqm across two buildings for Media Expert in the Central European Logistics Hub (CEL Hub) in Łódź, is finishing the chain's third project in the complex. In February this year, the developer will commission an 80,000 sqm facility - less than half a year after completing the previous investment in the Hub of the same size - and the tenant will use early access as early as January. The building will be connected to the two already operating facilities via conveyor belts, which allow for the automatic transfer of products. The construction of the last of the buildings for Media Expert as part of the CEL Hub lasted from May 2021. The electronics retail chain leases a total of over 300,000 sqm from Panattoni in Central Poland – including space in the Panattoni Park Łódź East and Panattoni Business Center Łódź III parks and the recently occupied 23,000 sqm within Panattoni Park Stryków III.

"Another such huge project within the Hub is a confirmation of the validity of the concept of creating the New Industrial District of Łódź. It is a unique project not only on the scale of Poland, but also Europe, which is why we are pleased that it is becoming an important element in the development of leaders in their industries. The Central European Logistics Hub benefits from a very good location, which has become even more attractive thanks to the support of the city authorities, for which we are constantly grateful." - comments Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni.

The complex of three buildings will serve as the central location for Media Expert, from which the company will handle its entire distribution network. The expansion of warehouse space within the Central European Logistics Hub is linked to the chain's consistent expansion and its constant development. The company is currently present in nearly 430 cities and carries out sales in over 520 electronics stores. The location in the central part of the country allows for the optimization of logistics and shortens delivery times both to individual customers - e-commerce, omnichannel - as well as stationary stores.

The Central European Logistics Hub is located within the borders of Łódź, and thanks to very good access to public transport, it is an attractive place for employees. This is particularly important for Media Expert, which will employ several hundred people across the three buildings located in the Hub. In the vicinity of the complex, there is a train station, and in cooperation with the City, a dedicated bus connection has been launched. Furthermore, the complex offers a number of benefits in the context of operating a central warehouse there, due to its location in the center of Poland. The investment is located at ul. Jędrzejowska in Łódź, right next to the A1 – the only Polish north-south motorway. The Hub is located just 30 km from the Łódź Północ junction, which is the intersection of the A1 and A2 motorways.

The target area of the entire Central European Logistics Hub is over 720,000 sqm. After completing the three facilities for Media Expert, the Hub's area reached 550,000 sqm. Companies that have already decided to develop in this location include BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego and SMYK. The Hub drives the development of the New Industrial District of Łódź with the possibility of creating 7,000 jobs.
